Abstract
HAQAE is a groundbreaking initiative designed to elevate the quality of humanitarian aid volunteering by assisting organisations in securing the prestigious EU Quality Label. The project responds to the call by delivering a comprehensive framework that integrates digital innovation with structured training methodologies, ensuring that humanitarian entities can reliably meet the rigorous standards of the European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps. Under the coordination of Inveniam Group, renowned for its exceptional record in guiding technology-driven projects and securing European public funding, HAQAE will develop an end-to-end solution that includes a robust digital toolkit, interactive e-learning platforms, and standardized quality assurance protocols.
The project is structured around five core work packages. Initially, WP1 will ensure sound project management and coherence across all activities, establishing a solid foundation for collaboration and adherence to EU guidelines. WP2, led by an experienced research partner, will execute a comprehensive needs analysis and set the evaluation criteria required for achieving the Quality Label. WP3 focuses on the design and development of an integrated digital toolkit, incorporating advanced e-learning modules, virtual simulations, and a centralized volunteer management system to streamline training and operational support. WP4 will pilot the innovative solutions in selected humanitarian organisations, collecting feedback and refining the toolkit in alignment with real-world operational demands. Finally, WP5 is dedicated to the dissemination of project results, capacity building through training sessions, and the establishment of strategies for long-term exploitation and scalability.
The collaborative consortium brings together a diverse range of expertise from technology, research, academia, and on-the-ground humanitarian experience. Through seamless integration of these varied competencies, HAQAE will not only facilitate the certification process but will also foster sustainable improvements in the planning and execution of humanitarian aid operations. Ultimately, the project aims to set a benchmark for quality and innovation in humanitarian volunteering, ensuring that organisations across Europe can deliver solidarity activities with enhanced efficiency, safety, and impact. By bridging technology and capacity building, HAQAE represents a significant step forward in preparing humanitarian organisations for the challenges of tomorrow while reinforcing the EU’s commitment to high-standard humanitarian assistance.
