Abstract

RITES is an ambitious project designed to bridge the gap between laboratory breakthroughs and industrial application in the field of real-time data processing. Coordinated by Onum, a leader in data intelligence, the project targets the maturity and validation of a novel edge processing technology that significantly reduces data complexity and costs by filtering and enriching data directly at its source. This innovative approach not only enhances system performance but also transitions reactive operations into proactive, informed decision-making in security and IT environments.

RITES is organized into five integrated work packages that encompass technology development, field validation, and commercial exploitation. WP1, led by Onum, will provide comprehensive project management, coordination, risk mitigation, and dissemination of results, ensuring all project activities align with strategic objectives. WP2, headed by Data Innovations Institute, will focus on the development of an advanced prototype, transforming lab-scale innovations into a robust technological solution fit for real-world deployment. This work package will refine the core filtering algorithms and facilitate the transition of preliminary designs to application environments.

WP3, coordinated by EuroTech University, introduces advanced machine learning and data analytics capabilities into the system. Here, predictive analytics and context-aware data enrichment will be integrated to further optimize the decision-making process by minimizing non-essential data flows. WP4, led by EdgeConnect Partners, will conduct extensive field trials and user testing within selected industrial and security settings. This will validate system performance, scalability, and reliability under operational conditions, gathering essential feedback to drive iterative improvements.

Finally, WP5, under the guidance of MarketBridge Consulting, is dedicated to shaping a robust business model and commercialization strategy. This work package will conduct detailed market analyses, assess societal impacts, and develop strategies for successful market entry and sustainability. Through close collaboration among consortium partners, RITES will establish a clear pathway from innovation to market, ensuring that the finished product meets both technological and commercial criteria, in full alignment with the objectives of the EIC Transition Open call.

By integrating cutting-edge technology with rigorous validation and market strategizing, RITES is poised to deliver a transformative solution for real-time data intelligence. This project will drive technological innovation while fostering economic growth and enhancing the operational efficiency of diverse industries, making a significant impact in the transition to proactive, data-driven decision-making.
