Abstract

SLEEPWISE is designed to revolutionize the management of sleep apnea and related respiratory conditions by integrating digital health solutions with advanced medical devices. The project builds on ResMed’s distinguished expertise in personalized care and innovative respiratory technology to create a comprehensive platform that connects patients, healthcare professionals, and technology experts. Through a secure and user-friendly digital ecosystem, SLEEPWISE will enable real-time remote monitoring, tailored therapy adjustments, and data-driven insights that support clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

The platform will combine IoT-enabled CPAP devices and sensors with cutting-edge AI algorithms to continuously assess therapy effectiveness, predict potential complications, and provide individualized treatment plans. To ensure high user acceptance and clinical relevance, the project will incorporate input from a broad range of stakeholders including medical experts, patients, and regulatory bodies. Sustainability is a core pillar of SLEEPWISE: the platform is designed to optimize energy consumption in devices, reduce material waste, and adhere strictly to ethical standards in data management and patient care.

The consortium is structured to integrate diverse expertise across technology development, clinical research, sustainability strategies, and stakeholder engagement. ResMed, as the project coordinator, will lead overall management, strategy alignment, and integration of the platform. TechMed Innovations will spearhead the hardware and IoT integration, while Digital Med University will drive the development of AI-driven analytics for personalized care. SleepTech Research Institute will ensure rigorous clinical validation through robust trials and data analytics, and EuroHealth Union, together with Sustainable Solutions Europe, will manage impact assessment and sustainability integration, as well as stakeholder engagement and dissemination of results.

In addressing the objectives of digital transformation in healthcare and sustainable medical practices, SLEEPWISE is strategically designed to offer demonstrable improvements in clinical efficacy, patient adherence, and cost-efficiency. By fostering strong industry-academic partnerships and engaging communities across Europe, the project exemplifies the commitment to long-term positive health outcomes and innovation-driven growth in the digital health sector.
